After a 69-29 start to the season, the boys finally had a bad week. And we really went all out with it too. 5-14. Stinky! Good news is we’re still up a healthy 24.34u on the season AND over the past two seasons, we’ve only had 5 losing weeks out of 40 regular season weeks (I think). So it’s pretty safe to say we’ll bounce back this week.
If you get our plays from the podcast, you were in luck, since we didn’t manage to record one last week. Lucky you. But you should be listening/rating/reviewing/subscribing etc. because they’re normally bangers and you can get our best plays earlier that way!
Consensus bets went 0-2 last week thanks to the Jags’ first win of the season and the Lions hangover effect sapping the strength from the Seahawks at home.
Teaser legs went 6-2, so you’d have gone 15-13 on the Wongs last week, which is still not great. At -120 odds, you’d have been down about a half a unit. The same as last week!
We did not, in fact, stunt on ‘em last week. But this is not last week anymore. Let’s get back on track.
SF at SEA
CONSENSUS! It’s Thursday Night Football which means Al and Danny are on the SF/SEA u47.5.
JAX at CHI
This one’s in London. That means Al is on the JAX/CHI u45.5 while Andy is taking CHI -2.5 vs JAX.
WAS at BAL
When an NFL total opens above 50, take the under. I’m on WAS/BAL u52.5.
HOU at NE
CONSENSUS! Normally when a rookie QB is making their first NFL start, it’s not a great idea to bet on them. But then again, this Patriots offense can’t get much worse than it has been with Brissett under center. Al, Andy and Danny are all taking NE +7 vs HOU.
IND at TEN
Andy’s on the over here, IND/TEN o43.
LAC at DEN
CONSENSUS! Andy and Danny are taking the Broncos at home getting points, DEN +3 vs LAC. Matt is taking the LAC/DEN u36.5.
PIT at LV
Matt is keeping his Steeler logic in place, fading their opponents’ team totals. So LV TT u16.5 is the move here.
ATL at CAR
Talk about two teams you should not be betting on, my goodness. The Falcons are historically a tricky side to bet on and this Panthers team has been up and down since benching Bryce Young. That said, I’m taking CAR +6.5 vs ATL here, counting on the home dog to cover.
DET at DAL
CONSENSUS! Andy and Danny are being rude and taking the Cowboys at home against my Lions, DAL +3 vs DET. I’m taking the under on this large total instead: DET/DAL u52.5.
CIN at NYG
CONSENSUS! Al and Matt are on the Bengals here, CIN -3, 3.5 at NYG.
BUF at NYJ
CONSENSUS! You may think the Jets at home in primetime is a good play. You wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that per se, but you would be wrong in betting that in realité. The Jets just canned Robert Saleh possibly (probably?) because he was about to fire Aaron Rodgers’ clipboard holder Nathaniel Hackett. Hitching your future to an almost 41 year old washed QB is certainly an interesting choice stylistically. Al, Danny and Matt are taking the Bills. BUF -2, 2.5 at NYJ.
Wong Teasers
If you’re unfamiliar with a Wong teaser, or teasers in general, check out the explainer in this post.
Here are the Wong teaser legs this week: JAX +2, PHI -8.5, IND +1.5, DEN +2.5, NYJ +2.5. It looks like some of these are probably gone by now, but some books are still carrying these numbers.
Beyond those, here are some teams with lines moving toward the Wong range: HOU -7, LV +3, DAL +3
